Originally from rural Berkshire, Keith is now based mainly in Cambridge.

He is a qualified civil engineer and over the last 30 years has explored his creativity through various materials. After many years working figuratively in clay he started to explore different sculptural mediums, working with wood, stone carving and finally, since 2005, with wire.

An evening class teacher challenged Keith to use wire as an alternative medium to clay and in the first evening of experimenting there was a ‘light bulb’ moment that developed over the intervening years to become trees. Each tree is made from a single piece of wire. Keith’s biggest trees use one kilometer of wire and have approximately 10,000 individually hand twisted leaves. No tools apart from Keith’s fingers are used!
